Dawn Reshen-Doty, a Danbury businesswoman and the president of Benay Enterprises, Inc., has been selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to receive the prestigious 2016 Connecticut Minority-Owned Small Business Award.
Benay Enterprises provides back-office administrative management and bookkeeping services to companies all over the United States and the United Kingdom. Led by Reshen-Doty since 2010, Benay continues to grow, expand and create new jobs for the people of Danbury.
Reshen-Doty and Benay Enterprises were nominated for this award by Connecticut Small Business Development Center (CTSBDC) business advisor Nelson Merchan. As a part of the CTSBDC, Nelson has been playing a key role in providing small business assistance and helping Benay succeed since April 2015.
“In my opinion, more is better when it comes to information and viewpoints, so having a local CTSBDC representative like Nelson Merchan in Danbury in invaluable to us,” says Reshen-Doty. “The CTSBDC has been an incredible source of information, recommendations and support.”
Serving the Greater Danbury region, Nelson has been quick to assist Reshen-Doty and her business in a knowledgeable and professional manner. They have worked together to improve Benay Enterprises in areas such as networking, reviewing their marketing and sales strategy, and increasing and strengthening the online presence of the company.
“Dawn is a strong believer in the future of downtown Danbury. She gives her clients peace of mind which allows them to concentrate on their own efforts of growing their businesses,” Nelson comments.
Reshen-Doty will be honored at the SBA Small Business Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at The Infinity Music Hall and Bistro, 32 Front Street, Hartford, CT, along with her fellow SBA Small Business Award recipients. Click here to learn more about the event and to purchase tickets.
