Storrs, Conn.: The Connecticut Small Business Development Center (CTSBDC), the City of Meriden and The Midstate Chamber of Commerce are hosting a ribbon cutting and open house to celebrate the newest CTSBDC office located at the Meriden City Hall.
Please join Mayor Kevin Scarpati, CTSBDC State Director Emily Carter, Meriden Economic Development Director Juliet Burdelski, Midstate Chamber of Commerce Vice President of Membership Services Rosanne Ford, The City Council, Board of Education and State Dignitaries for this special event scheduled for Friday, February 26, 2016 at 12 p.m. at the Meriden City Hall, 1st Floor Room 134, 142 East Main Street, Meriden, Connecticut. Refreshments will be provided by local businesses Ebenezer Foods and Nina’s Café.
This new office location offers professional, confidential business advising to entrepreneurs in every stage of business and all industry sectors in the City of Meriden. “This beneficial partnership between the Connecticut Small Business Development Center and the City of Meriden ensures that entrepreneurs of the city have access to the necessary resources available to assist with starting or growing their business. This allows for economic growth and job creation in this area,” said CTSBDC State Director Emily Carter.
Economic Development Director Juliet Burdelski commented, “Having our own small business advisor here at Meriden City Hall will be a great asset to businesses of all types—from startups to larger businesses and manufacturers. We encourage any business looking to expand here in Meriden to take advantage of the free resources offered here at City Hall.”
“The Midstate Chamber of Commerce is delighted to have this business resource with a physical presence in our community,” said Rosanne Ford, Vice President of Membership Services at The Midstate Chamber of Commerce. She added, “CTSBDC provides valuable information, guidance and resources for small businesses and startups. With office hours in Meriden City Hall, businesses from all over the central Connecticut region now have much easier access to CTSBDC programs and we look forward to our continued partnership to facilitate small business growth in the region.”
CTSBDC Business Advisor Shelly Koehler will be available in this new location and she comments, “I am pleased to open our new Meriden office located at the Meriden City Hall. This new office puts us directly into the path of serving new and existing businesses in the Meriden area, which is our primary purpose.”
In addition to office hours in the Meriden City Hall, CTSBDC has established a virtual location at the Meriden Public Library. Adding to the nearly 30 Virtual CTSBDC locations around the state, the new station in Meriden offers a laptop equipped with Google Hangouts. Individuals wishing to connect with a CTSBDC business advisor can meet virtually right from the library. This virtual setup is confidential and allows individuals to work on business documents and applications for funding with the help of skilled business advisors, all without leaving Meriden.Go Back
