C.H. Booth Library will launch its Virtual Small Business Development Center with a special business open house, “Grow Your Business.” There will be a demonstration of the free Virtual Small Business Development Center (Virtual SBDC) program, which enables clients to access their CTSBDC business advisor via the Internet in real time, face-to-face conversations. Clients can have a “virtual” meeting, without the need for either client or advisor to travel distances.
After working for more than two decades in the food service business, Carl Huben wanted to open a restaurant that would serve a healthier and tastier hamburger than the traditional roadside fare. And while hamburgers aren’t traditionally considered health food, Huben searched far and wide when he opened the Old 37 Patio and Grill nearly two years ago to find the perfect grass-fed beef.
CTSBDC Small Business Intern, Matt Webber, Wins “Most Polished Presentation” Award
The University of Connecticut’s undergraduate students have always proven to be a bright beacon of tomorrow’s, and even today’s, innovation and progress. Matt Webber, a junior UConn student and a small business intern at the CTSBDC has proven this yet again with his triumph in Dr. David Noble’s class “Thinking, Acting and Managing Entrepreneurially” in the final weeks of the spring 2015 semester.
