SBA Partners With Microsoft, The Refinery, & The Women’s Business Center To Host InnovateHer 2016

Women are in the workforce now more than ever, a number that is close to surpassing that of men. Gender equality is not simply about getting a woman a spot at the metaphorical table. Women have made great strides in education, the workforce, and their role in the economy, but there are still not enough women in leadership positions.

SBA, in partnership with Microsoft, is launching a nationwide prize competition to find the most innovative products and services that help impact and empower women’s lives.

Criteria For Eligible Submissions:

Apply in one of two ways:

  • Submit your proposal online to the Women’s Business Center or The Refinery CT from October 19, 2015 to November 15, 2015
  • Pitch your idea at the Microsoft Store at West Farms Mall on Tuesday, November 10, from 8 AM to 10 AM. You will have 5 minutes to present your idea. To confirm your spot, send a 2 page executive summary to midepalm@microsoft.com.

The final round will be held in the Washington, D.C. metro area during Women’s History Month, on March 17, 2016. National Finalists will have the opportunity to present a live pitch to a panel of expert judges and compete for up to $70,000 in cash prizes provided by Microsoft.
