Storrs, Conn.:  The Connecticut Small Business Development Center (CTSBDC), along with its local partner, the Bridgeport Public Library, is preparing its second class to graduate from the Ice House Entrepreneurship Program™ Monday, Dec. 14, at the Bridgeport Library, 925 Broad Street, Bridgeport, CT 06604. The awards ceremony will begin at 6:00 PM with opening remarks from CTSBDC State Director Emily Carter and Scott Hughes, Director of the Bridgeport Public Library.

The Ice House Entrepreneurship Program is an innovative and interactive program created by the Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative designed to inspire, inform and involve participants in the fundamental aspects of an entrepreneurial mindset and the unlimited opportunities it can provide.

“The Ice House Entrepreneurship Program opens a world of opportunities for its participants,” said CTSBDC State Director Emily Carter. “This powerful program will help to identify, create and evaluate opportunities that offer a new way of life for those who complete the course. We are proud to graduate our second class this year and look forward to following up on their entrepreneurial progress and contributions to the state of Connecticut.”

The Ice House Entrepreneurship Program was brought to the state by CTSBDC in order to assist under-served communities in nurturing and supporting entrepreneurship, which can empower ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things. In today’s world, it is a skill that everyone needs, regardless of his or her chosen path.

Scott Hughes of the Bridgeport Public Library said, “We are pleased to be able to bring this program to Bridgeport and provide another opportunity for residents to access learning and professional development at the Library”.

The Ice House Entrepreneurship Program was facilitated by CTSBDC Business Advisors Valeria G. Bisceglia and Anthony Peters. The United Illuminating Company (UI), The Southern Connecticut Gas Company (SCG), Connecticut Natural Gas Corporation (CNG) and The Berkshire Gas Company sponsor the program.

The Ice House Entrepreneurship Program graduated its inaugural class of New Haven students in July 2015.
